Waiting…

by Ghazal A

Throughout the holy week, I was thinking a lot about Jesus and his feelings in the last few days. He was in a human body and felt so many emotions.
That we. Never can understand. Actually, we never can feel others’ pain because we were not in their situations.
Before I became a refugee I never could understand how hard it was.
It’s not being a stranger in another country. It’s about having no identity. No one takes you seriously. You will humiliate yourself day by day. You are happy because you left a miserable situation and save your life. But every second we are dying, of humiliation, insult, loneliness, and judgments from others.
We have an expression in Farsi that means you will make up your cheeks by hitting yourself. It uses when someone is in a hard and bad situation but doesn’t let others know.
I think as refugees we all do this. I always tried to be strong and faithful but living as a refugee in turkey has been harder than ever since February, both financially and mentally. Please pray for our situation, we’re sure God will open doors. He is a provider, he is the God of miracles. No one can make ways but God.
