Letter to my Sons

by Zhyar Mehr

Dear sons (Mehr and Zhyar),

As a father, I am proud to be a god-fearing Christian with Muslim background. My faith to Jesus Christ is an endless wealth to me in this world and the coming. God’s love has changed the trajectory of my life towards brightness, peace, happiness, and everlasting joy; this is what the God has promised all mankind.

My objective in my life is to raise both of you in Jesus’ faith. Your mother has also the same goal and taking care of your faith every moment. I know her worries about your future in a country filled with Islamic radicalism; sometimes she sheds tears of the uncertain future that we have as a family amongst millions who hate us and pray for our annihilation. Our belief in God is our strength and this power propels us ahead every second. Till now Jesus has protected us from devils, and I am sure His love is endless and forever with us; He has saved us from bombs, rockets and bad intentions of ill-doers since the beginning of my and your mother’s baptism.

My cute sons, you are not alone in this world; there is always Holy Spirit with you to safeguarding you in every bad situation. Be strong and cautious because we are surrounded by followers of satan, and they don’t want us to live in peace and happiness. Maintain your faith in Jesus Christ, study and work hard. Your personal efforts along with your faith in Jesus will make you strong and invincible men that satan’s standing army could not withstand you.

Be polite, loyal and faithful to Jesus and respect all human being. Share your knowledge with others and serve the people as Jesus did. Nourish your heart and mind with God’s love and never forget Him in your lifetime. Reside within the glorious kingdom of God and trust the king of the kings as your shepherd that saves you from wolves and predators.

May God bless and protect you

In Him
